The BlackBerry 10 - Advance OS With A Difference

BlackBerry's seemed to be the phone of choice for any business, however big or small. They were the go-phones that everyone who worked needed to own at a time. However they were ousted by smarter, trendier and more creatively and intelligently designed competition. However, the Canadians after a year of speculation and rumours have responded very well with their latest OS, the BlackBerry 10 and two phones running on this platform, the all touch Z10 and touch and type BlackBerry Q10.

Leading the fray in the BB 10 revolution is the BlackBerry Z10, a phone that carries the responsibility of reigniting the suffering fate of the Canadian firm. But it's the software the handset is running on that is the central piece to BlackBerry's success.

The BlackBerry smartphone series has been in frantic need and search of a fresh and creative thought process for a while as the software on smart phones today have outstripped the now extremely outdated BB OS7 platform.

Now this is where BlackBerry has the edge; other platforms have witnessed incremental improvement whereas the BlackBerry 10 is a completely new gift to lovers of this style – BlackBerry has scratched off the BB OS7 base and rebuilt from the base level.

BB 10 sees the implementation of an absolutely new user interface, losing the familiar BlackBerry system everybody has been used to make place for of something that bears a resemblance to the likes of Android and iOS, although it has own unique features as well.

BlackBerry 10 will mesmerize you with merged home-screens, widgets, app lists and a unified inbox into one slick and smooth interface, offering to you an easy-to-navigate user experience enriched with the style and utility that only BlackBerry can provide.

The first thing you will see on BlackBerry 10 is the lock screen, which not only shows the time and date, but also unread messages and upcoming calendar events. For unlocking the touch screen you will have to slide your finger on the screen and just after that the home screen will appear below.

The main BlackBerry 10 home screen is consisting of 'Active Frames', which are technically mini-applications; it gives complete information about the specific app. It is also known to launch the full application when tapped. BB10 will put on view up to around eight active frames and show the most recent used app on the left position.

Moving from right to left shows the complete app list, with around 16 apps on the screen at a time. At the bottom of both the home screen and the app list there are array of short cuts like links to phone, camera and search.

Peek and Flow are two mainstay aspects that come as the highlights of BlackBerry 10. Flow is moving from one application to another with no back or home button. Peek refers to checking latest messages and even notifications. Here, there is no need to leave your current application as well.

BlackBerry may just have done it again with their exciting new OS and phones. We can wait and see what they achieve in time.
