Sony Ericsson Cedar - Read Complete Review on Sony Phones

Sony Ericsson Cedar is a middle range cell phone coming from Sony's Environmentally conscious Green Heart range. Following the ideology of Elm and Hazel with regard to Eco-friendly body material the Cedar is a perfect handset for consumers with lofty morals. We still remember how Elm and Hazel of Eco-warrior campaign impressed us with their service and range of features. And now Sony Ericsson Cedar seems to be reaping the good works and reliability achieved by its predecessors. Combining a two color schemes with smooth lines it exhibits a pleasing looks before its on lookers.

Beautiful Body
The cedar, though, looks beautiful, stylish and light weighted, it is not a small phone. Weighing just 84 gram with 111 x 49 x 15.5 mm dimensions, it will fell bulky in your pocket. Besides, we are not impressed by the ergonomics of the phone, at the back, it curves from both ends resulting in loose grip of fingers. When we take the gadget in our hand, we got to know that the weight of the phone lies in its center. So, if you don't hold it tight, it may tip out of your mitts.

Display and Keyboard
We don't have any complaints against the display of the device. It features a TFT 256 K colors screen, having screen of 2.2 inch. Beneath, its reasonably big screen, there lies an attractive keyboard with buttons big enough to press. For navigation, it has square size four way key with a round push button in the center.

Shooting Zeal
Sony Ericsson Cedar Contract Deals comes with a 2 MP camera for clicking pictures. In order to improve the quality of the pics, it is equipped with Geo-tagging and other features. We can enlarge the pictures shot with it up to 1600x1200 pixels. Unfortunately it lacks an LED flash, so shooting in low light will be a bad experience. The gadget is capable of recording video clips as well. The QVGA camera of the phone records 15frames per second. Moreover, it does not come with secondary camera for video chatting and conferencing, so you have to shoot your still and present it the other caller during the conversation. But, we don't know, how many people would bother to use it.

Must to Notice
The inside of the device is stuffed with wonders. Along with compatible processor and long lasting battery, WAP 2.0/HTML, Java(MIDP2.0), are some its main components. It comes with 280 MB storage facility on board, at the same time you can expand it up to 16 GB with micro SD card, but to our disappointment, it does not come with the gadget, you have buy it separately. Nevertheless, you buy it, you will not lack any space for your favorite songs, videos and other data.

The phone is capable of providing variety of music also with its several features based on Sony Ericsson's Walkman program. For the supply of music, it incorporates 3.5 mm headphone jack, which you can use with portable speaker and headphone both. Like Elm, the Cedar following the trends of low budget phones comes with micro-USB connection for charging and data bartering both. Hence, you will not have to find a data cable that you usually misplace in some corner of your house.

Limits to Social Networking
It will not be wrong to say that the phone is one of the middle range handsets that you can find in the market as it does not have as cutting edge features as you find with HTC Wildfire or some any other high end technology phones. Hence, its freedom in terms of social networking connectivity, high speed processor etc. is curtailed. It has limited connectivity to My Space, Twitter and Facebook etc. However, you can dock them as smart phone widgets on home screen. Besides, we can upload photo to popular sites such as Flicker, Blogger and Picasa etc.

High Speed Internet Connectivity
Though the phone comes with GPRS and EDGE, we can enjoy high speed of Internet via 3G network connectivity for surfing and other Internet related pursuits. But, it is not a wonderful gadget for downloading things, neither you can refresh your personal Twitter timeline, nevertheless you are connected.

Apart from these features, the phone comes with all the necessary messaging service, call facilities, games and a lot more which you can expect for its price.

Upshot: Clean Shot
Sony Ericsson Cedar is a continuation of the Green heart campaign of the brand, as well as, seems to offer the bangs for its bucks. Considering its price value, we find everything with the handset satisfactory apart from its ergonomic which needs hard and careful handling of the phone. All in all, this is gadget with limited freedom and technology.
